GJ’s Landscape and Civil was engaged directly by Randwick City Council to deliver the upgrade to this playground in Maroubra. This upgrade was designed to cater to people of all abilities, including those with mobility, sensory, sight, or hearing issues. It also brought all the play equipment and surfaces up to date with the latest Australian standards for safety. The upgrade was funded by the NSW Government and the Randwick City Council’s ‘Everyone Can Play’ grant that supports playspaces in neighbourhoods.
Key improvements included:
- Slides and swings for bigger kids
- Sensory play for toddlers
- Toddler swing
- Wheelchair accessible carousel
- More outdoor furniture, including a drinking fountain
